When I moved to New York in July of 2010 I was proud to register as a Democratic Party voter for the first time.
As the budget battle wages on and the two parties continue to point at each other like a group of 3 year olds, even after the dust is settling, I am becoming less inclined to register as a Democrat in my new state.
I know at the end of the day my values will align mostly with the Democratic party, but their continued willingness to play the game and “compromise” at the expensive of the poor has brought about continued disgust.
Too much disgust.
I think its interesting that after falling in love and studying political science, that I’m back at my ignorant 18 year old opinion that both parties are “wrong”.
This isn’t a permanent write-off of the Democratic Party by any means, however, I need a moratorium from watching them play the game.
